NSSF First Shots Pistol Shooting Course

The NSSF First Shots Pistol Shooting course is designed to welcome individuals of all experience levels, regardless of prior shooting background or affiliation. Led by NRA-Certified Instructors. This traditional instructor-led program provides comprehensive guidance from start to finish.
It also serves as an ideal introduction or initial instruction for the new shooter looking to become a responsible gun owner utilizing our NSSF First Shots program. We supply all of the firearms, ammunition, and safety gear you need, so you don’t need to own a gun. We can help steer you toward a first firearm purchase if you’d like some assistance.
This is a three-hour course whose curriculum covers essential topics such as firearm safety rules, operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition selection, pistol maintenance and storage, shooting fundamentals, marksmanship, and range safety. Practical training includes live fire exercises with fun shooting activity, supervised by an NRA Certified Instructor.
Participants receive the NSSF First Shots Shooting handbook, eye and ear protection, information on Next Steps, and access via email to instructors after class for questions that may arise.
This course addresses common questions that learners may have and ensures they receive authoritative answers from knowledgeable instructors committed to their safety and success.
Training sessions are conducted at Northern Chester County Sportsman’s Club, at 343 Hopewell Rd, Elverson, PA 19520 under the direct supervision of NRA Certified Pistol Instructors, blending classroom instruction with practical range experience. Completed in a single class, on an indoor range with heat and air conditioning in a single-evening session.
Participants can easily sign up for classes through our “Upcoming Training Events” menu, select “NSSF First Shots” and choose their preferred date. You will be taken to the further information page at the bottom which will be the link to sign up for the desired date.
