NRA CCW

Course Date: Saturday September 14, 2024

The NRA Basic CCW Course is intended to teach the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed firearm in public places and others where they may legally do so.

The course is approximately 10 hours in length depending on student needs and abilities.

You will need for the course a self-defense firearm in a 9mm or larger (no magnums permitted) firearm. If physical needs require students may use a smaller caliber after consulting before class with the instructor. We intend to be as inclusive as is possible without compromising the goals of the program. You will also need, eye and ear protection, a strong side leather or Kydex holster ( no Serpa types) two extra magazines, and a spare magazine pouch. You should also have 200 rounds of ammunition as you may need to shoot the qualification more than once. You should go home with ammunition left over which you may use for practice.

Additionally, you will need lunch and snacks if desired. There is no place nearby to go out to get lunch in the time allocated for it and still finish the class at a reasonable time. You will also need note-taking materials. The club has a limited honor bar available, and sodas are for sale. Water is free and coffee will be available in the morning.

The class will begin at 8:00 am sharp, please arrive at 7:45 am for paperwork, etc before class as well.

The material we will cover includes:

Safety and Emergency procedures for the class.

No part of this course is to be construed in any way as legal advice, and the instructor is not a lawyer. Any legal questions you may have after the class should be addressed to an attorney familiar with the use of deadly force in the jurisdiction where you live.
