NRA BASIC PISTOL
This Instructor-Led class takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. It is a single-day course.
Course topics include:
Gun safety rules
Proper operation of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers
Ammunition knowledge and selection
Pistol selection and storage
Shooting fundamentals
Pistol inspection and maintenance
Marksmanship and shooting range safety.
Additionally
Students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.
Class is held on an indoor range, rain or shine. It is heated and air-conditioned as appropriate..
The instructor will supply the firearms and ammunition required.
You will need: Note taking materials, Lunch, snacks if desired, sweater or jacket for use when range fans are operational. You are REQUIRED to have eye and hearing protection. (no exceptions)
An honor bar at the club and sodas are also available. Water is free. I will have coffee at 7:30.
Your class fees of $125.00 are due at sign-in. (cash or check only)
Depending on class experience, we may finish earlier or later than the published time. Figure between 3:30 – 5:30 pm
If you have a personal firearm and would like help, bring it in a case, and leave it in your car until the class is finished and you have been directed to retrieve it. I am happy to help you provided the time is available after the formal class. Bring a box of ammo with you if it is other than .22 caliber. We may have to do any shooting with it outdoors. Daylight remaining will determine how long we will have for assistance.
